Apple pomace
Apple pomace consists of the rind, pulp and seeds and makes up approximately 25% of the processed apple; mainly composed of insoluble carbohydrates such as lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose, monosaccharides such as glucose and fructose, and disaccharides such as sucrose, contains minerals, proteins and vitamins. Apple pomace is mainly used as animal feed, for the production of pectin, enzymes and other purposes.
